Leap into Learning

Starting school is a big step and at Tootgarook Primary School, we make sure it is an exciting and positive one. Our Leap into Learning program gives children enrolled in Foundation the chance to experience what school life is all about before the year officially begins.

Over a series of sessions, our future Foundation students explore early Literacy, Numeracy and Specialist activities, guided by the teachers who will be in their classrooms next year. They get to know the spaces they will use every day – from the classroom and toilets to the playground, Art, Music and STEM rooms – building familiarity and confidence along the way.

This hands on and welcoming transition program is designed to support both children and their families. By the time Day One arrives, our new Foundation students already feel part of the Tootgarook community, ready to settle into routines, make friends, and begin their learning journey with a smile.
